So still working on this old saw in my spare time. Looks like I am not getting any spark so I first tried changing out the spark plug but still no spark. Took the side cover off to expose the magneto and took that out, was quite dirty inside hoping cleaning it and re-gaping it would have positive results but still no spark. Before I go ahead and purchase a new magneto any suggestions to verify it is the magneto? I have heard you can hook up a D battery and see if it sparks but not sure how you hook it up.

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks
Haggis

So I went ahead and purchased the ignition module. Hope that solves the spark issue.
