Isuzu Diesel engine/homemade band sawmill
« on: February 08, 2017, 07:16:43 AM »
Been debating what to do with this, lots of ideas, no time and no current use for it. It's a perfect running Isuzu Diesel engine, 38hp I think, off a thermo-king reefer. It sits in what I will refer to as the head or headrig to a sawmill I built years ago. I had all the problems everyone has when they first get them going...getting everything aligned right to cut straight...and I did that. It cut nice straight lumber for a year or so until being decommissioned due to buying a production mill. 4 post head, 3x6x1/4" main frame, on greaseable v groove wheels. Hydraulic up and down via assembly from walk behind forklift. Assembly weighs a lot!!! I can forklift load a truck or trailer. I was going to pull the motor and sell it separate and scrap the frame for scrap value, but there's too much there that's good...comes with a box of cooks blades...figured I'd start here first. I will demonstrate the engine starts and runs...nothing else. I will not be putting any blades on it, or demonstrating it as a sawmill, or anything else… I do not have the time to deal with this, that's why it has to go bye-bye.  Assume that you were buying a diesel engine, and some useful scrap metal… Anything on top of that it's just icing. No track or anything else is available or included… Just the head with engine, tires, and that sort of stuff with it…  it is altogether. Price is $1750 or best offer. I will be donating the proper amount to the forest forum,

providing it sells on here. Thank you!

The time is coming, any interest should be expressed VERY soon...mill is tentatively scheduled for engine removal, tear down, and chassis scrapping for next week...no reasonable offer will be refused...

Is this a 4 Cly engine? How long of blades does it take?

Yeah, me too!! It's a shame to see it turn out the way it has, but it is what it it...time to move on...thing cut as nice and accurate as my LT40 diesel with similar power. Today was the day...motor is out and available, $900 cash firm. Everything else has been sold or scrapped.

I think Isuzu makes the best small engines... IF, I lived up there, i'd buy it just to have it... I hope it makes it to a good home  :)
Thanks, Josh
