want a load of logs in central missouri (Fulton)
« on: September 14, 2017, 12:39:22 PM »
I am interested in buying a load of sawlogs that I could get 16' boxed heart 8X8 out of for a timber frame project.  I have a mill and 40 wooded acres, but a.) don't want to cut down all my good trees, and b.) it takes me forever to cut down a tree then drag out with my crawler to the mill.  I know there is a big timber industry in Missouri, but no idea about how to source a load of logs.  Once I find the price I may be back to harvesting my own, lol. Any local knowledge much appreciated.

You could call the guys at Mid-Mo Sawmill and Logging outside Sedalia, MO

(816) 806-5808

They only used to have a sawmill.  Sold it when they couldn't keep reliable labor.  Now it's the guy and his two sons and they only log and sell logs.

Not sure how far they will travel, but I've dealt with them in the past and have been happy.

A PM to Bibbyman could be even better.
Lucas 6-13+slabber, Mr. Sawmill bandmill, orange chainsaws, JD SSL, Case Backhoe, farm tractors, trailers, and 150ish acres of trees.  Fledgling woodshop with CNC router, laser engraver, Woodmaster 712, and a Berlin 108 moulder (project).  Oh, and a lovely (patient) wife and four offbearers.

I have a logger on a site north of Springfield, IL looking to get 1,797 BDFT of white pine off a site. Interested?
