Can you identify this cable skidder?
« on: September 21, 2017, 08:45:46 AM »
Can you help me identify this cable skidder (make/model/year)? My father bought is used in the early 1980s. He painted it red, it originally was a light green, then it was painted yellow. I believe it is a 1960s or early 1970s Tree Farmer or Timberjack. Thanks!

I'd say Tree Farmer. More pictures would help.

Yup, light green original paint, hood and grill speak for a Tree Farmer.  What motor is in it ?
Make sure you know how to fall properly when you fall and as to not hurt anyone around you.
Also remember, it's not the fall what hurts, its the sudden stop. !!

Yes a Tree Farmer for sure, not back in 60's or it would have been yellow. Engine will be the deciding factor for a C5 or C6.... 353 for a C5 and 453 for a C6.

  It looks like a 1976  C-6 with a 4-53 Detroit
Third generation logger, owner operator, 30 yrs felling experience with pole skidder. I got my neck broke back in 89, left me a quad. The wife kept the job going up to 96.
