Just get a little hammer and a pair of pliers and straighten it out .Make a little piece of metal as the clasp and either braze it or pop rivet it in place--use steel rivets .

I have anO38 mag for 20 years always hard to start when not run for a while I just pour a little mix on the filter and fires right up but after 15 years I finally had to change the plug and it helped a little
