Favorite 10 1/4 saw?
« on: November 11, 2017, 02:15:19 PM »
Okay here's the next question.
I'm planning to add a 10 1/4" saw to my beam cutting tools.
Which do you prefer and why?

I bought the Milwaukee a couple of years ago and its been a very good saw . I chose it over the Makita because I have the 16" and the blade guard is so hard to use that it scared me off from a Makita 10" . scouter Joe

My favorite 10 1/4" saw is the only one I've got.

Skill worm drive "Sawsquatch".
I may CL sell my Porter Cable 7 1/2" saw, the Skill is smooth and powerful.

I have two of the current Milwaukees and I do like them. I've had the older one for over 7 years now and it's been great. I have used the Makita 10 1/4" and I didn't like it as much. It didn't seem to have as good visibility of the cutting line. It also seemed to have weird ergonomics, although that is probably more a reflection of what I'm used to.

Thanks for the input.  I'm looking at a very clean used Milwaukee 10 1/4".
Maybe it will still be there...
