What does that tree weigh?
« on: November 24, 2017, 11:36:52 AM »
Is there a "rule of thumb" to use when calculating the weight of a tree?  I'm going to haul some White Pine's from my SIL's house next week and some of them are 30" in diameter.  My trailer is rated for 10K and I'd rather not overload it.

TIA

Jim

There is a log weight calculator in the Forum "Toolbox" section. Bottom left of the screen.

There is a log weight calculator in the Forum "Toolbox" section. Bottom left of the screen.

Or under the "extras" menu up top.

The calculator says a 30" Eastern White Pine log weighs about 175#/ft when green.
