Winches broken

What are the chances of having 3 skidders with 3 broken winches at the same time??

by the way you cannot buy a new ring and pinion for gearmatic 19-119. No one makes it....

Try Northwest Tractor in Boring OR: http://www.nwtractorparts.com/  or Nor Can in Spokane: http://www.norcan-parts.com/default.htm Either one might have used or surplus or know where to get 'em...

I bought used from golden rule here local. The bitch about it is the ring gear is riveted on the main shaft. No one rivets anymore and there is nothing available aftermarket so you have to change the whole shaft. The shaft is the whole problem to begin with. The stupid setup with the bearings sandwiched together and 20 different shims in 1 thousandth incriminates. You cant get them just right it wears the shaft and you have to get the bearing surface spray welded and re machined.the worst engineering Ive ever seen.

Oh yeah and you have to completely disassemble the entire winch to change the ring and pinion. 😤 its no wonder Paccar scrapped it.  I got it all done works better than new. It

Another one to add to the list would be Fraley tractor in Wenatchee.

Boy, this is why I didnt want a Skidder with a gearmatic. I want to just pull wood on weekends occasional use. Didnt want to work on a winch all the time, so I wasnt too keen on a gearmatic.... glad I have a big Clark winch
