This is the familiar text of most forestry schools in North America. I have the 3rd edition (1982) and it has been a valuable resource.

As you know forest mensuration includes, volume estimates, orienteering, aerial photo interpretation, weight or mass measurements of wood, area measurements of the ground and trees (basal area), log rules, volume tables, tree taper models, grading, types of sampling, estimating tree growth, stand growth, density, site quality, yield, value of wildlife, value of land use, and recreational values.

One of the authors, John A. Kershaw, is a faculty member at UNB's Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Management.

Hmmph, I will have to check, but I must have the 1st Edition.  Written on papyrus, I think.

I wouldn't be surprised to find it hidden in some cave near a desert all rolled up and placed inside a box made of acacia wood.  ;D :D

Swamp, I dont think Dr. Kershaw is that old, close but not that old.  I did not really get to know him when I first started but later went on one of his yearly stand dynamics trips (down Mississippi, Arkansa, Louisiana that year) and learned alot from him.  Had a friend do his thesis with Dr. Kershaw.  I think I have that book on the shelf across the room.
