Actually, I'm making a journey next Tuesday to pick something up. Very Excited! It's even a color that many of you will recognize. ;D
OK WM ;D
That would be my guess too! ;)
Where's your imaginations! :D
Jeff must have ended up with the Highly Valuable Walnut and has an LT70 coming. 8)
Ok something blue?
I figured it out, Yes Sir, I rightly did but I ain't talking. :-X Actually it is spelled out in another post elsewhere. ;D
We have an early Christmas contest. ⛄️
I think it's rusty !
I will be heading south southwest.
Forget the rusty. And we know it's not walnut logs. hmmm
Bingo!! I told ya I knew. 8)
Will the shape be round? ;)
The shape will be irregular. :)
I will be towing something to.. and then I will be towing something back...
More Logrite fencing, this time they were painted and you need to drive to the freight terminal or RR terminal to pick them up?
Color? Brown?
Pretty sure I know. ;D I heard some rumors up in New England.
You bought the FF server and are going to install it behind the new super security fence? ;D
Hmm....going south to get something, need a trailer for it. It could only be one then, theres only one product that the south produces that the north doesn't. Your going to load up your trailer with multiple 2000 lb bulk bags full of Grits. Theres nothing else it could possibly be.........its for the pig roast. Your gonna be forming the grits into pig shapes to cook instead of the real pigs.
Still better than tofurkey. ;D

This could be absolutely correct, but you would first need to see the announcement about my dementia diagnosis.
:D :D Yer cracking me up.

Jeff lives in Michigan, the Goat in South Carolina..... sail_smiley say_what
Maybe he was looking in a mirror when he asked that.
Is that direction UP?
A 3 word clue.
Big time upgrade.
You are trading your woodmizer for a newer, larger model, maybe?
I smell a new sawmill ?
I'm with MM on this
I have never said what but I did say that if you read carefully you can figure it out. It's there. ;D
Maybe towing old orange to its new home and bringing new orange to its new home?
Some pretty good guesses, however....
Jeff is going to be milling a lot of fence boards out of cedar smiley_fiddler smiley_fiddler
I actually started doing that yesterday. I had 3 logs. I need 30. :D This however is not related to the fence. Well, kinda in an abstract sort of way.
You're going to get a new swimming pool.
Gawd I hope not.
I think it has 4 wheels not 2 and probably has a steering wheel so that would be 5 wheels.
To respond to that observation, my youngest vehicle was born in the last millennium. :D
old truck pulling trailer to get cedar, new to you truck pulling same trailer with cedar home?
My cedar is in the opposite direction of my trip Tuesday. I'm heading up tomorrow morning for that.
Back to logrite for more fencing.
As much as I'd like to do that, no, but that is also not south southwest. :)
Going to Arizona to pick up a lathe and a load of burls.
You musta pulled that one right out of your.... brain.
It's southwest. :D
south southwest. :)

me thinks Indianapolis Ind area which is south by southwest on any map I look at to a factory that sells some nice orange equipment that is a upgrade from what you already have. Have a nice trip Jeff. Wow. Jack
Okay, I could give you another hint. I could tell you the color, but then you would think it to be something it isn't, so think of a color, think of what that color might be on, then know it ain't that. :D
A new tractor.
I got it,TWO. ::)
Rust free Oklahoma home of OKIE DOKIE used cars and trucks......well at least it's south/southwest and the home of Paul Case and maybe Arky.
Going to get Pork Chop, the honored guest?
A new(er) red Forestry Forum truck?
Okies in my area go to MO to get automobiles. :-\
PC
Planning on pulling out of here tomorrow morning about 4am and reaching my destination about 5 or 6 hours later. :)
5 hours 28 minutes 348 miles
Hooked up and ready to head out in the morning. Another clue. My old faithful LT30 Wood-Mizer is still here, set up and ready for my next batch of logs I hope to haul Thursday.
Adding a "swing mill"?
A new Woodmizer mower? ;D
:) ^

At least we'll find out today what the answer is to this riddle. Can't wait for the reveal!
A trailer to haul logs.
I asked .my neighbor Steve to go. He says whatcha driving? I said my truck. He says I want to get back, let's take mine!
Steve is driving, we are loaded and on our way back. 8)
8000 lbs of Grits heading home.....thats why he needs a fence that tall. He can't let the other northerns see what hes doing or they'll call the Feds.
This is almost like waiting for Tribal Council, wonder how many of us will be Blind-Sided? ;D
:D Good one Chuck!
Dunno if the trailer was overkill.

Jim, that's true. Definitely wouldn't want that coming off in traffic.
So.....What was under the hat on the trailer?
Um.. keys maybe? :)

I see it has a purple drank holder, better practice before you use it,or you will only be going in circles.
I think that may be the second most expensive hat I have seen!
The most expensive is the one you buy and then they give you a mill :D
Sweet looking machine!!
Nice looking Woodmixer there boss!!!!
Oops.

That was a easy one to figure out. Everytime I looked at the topic a Woodmizer mower banner would show up. Jeff is getting like Google targeting adds. :P
Now I gotta learn to drive it. I got a lotta trees. I also don't want to drive it like i drove my lt30. The um Jeremy topic.... I didn't tell y'all that the very last cut on the very last log I hit the back stop. [Shame] :D

HINT regarding my pro-sponsor topic>> smiley_ignore
I took the liberty to look up the specs which I had no idea WM made mowers .From what they say it seems to be very robustly made .Very much in the style of other high end machines .With the amount of sloping ground you have it should hold the slopes like glue but take it a little easy until you get the hang of it because that ditch bank is really steep .You need a goat for that one .It should last you a good long time .
FWIW Kohler and Kawasaki ,most are US built .Both are good engines,it's just a matter of preference which people prefer over another one .
You can hit a golf ball 200 yards with that mower if you hit the sweet spot of the blade. ;D
I know. :)
It will also throw a 98 mph fastball, that will knock you out, trust me i KNOW! When the homerun balls land in the rough, they are hard to see. it also throws gravel be Careful. Lazerdan
Sharp looking machine! Woodmizer written on it guarantees its well engineered. 8)
I'd buy one.

I've been in desperate need of a mower for years now and knew this year was going to have to be it. I was working on my old mower every single time I mowed last year. Just like the rest of you, I deeply appreciate this forum and know that without the sponsors it could not exist. It was a no brainer when Wood-Mizer came out with a mower that is where I would go. Wood-Mizer was our first sponsor. They approached us in 2003 because of an appreciation on how we as members and administration conducted ourselves and the resource we provided. They asked us how they could help way back then. If that had not happened, I seriously doubt that the Forestry Forum would have continued to grow and thrive the way it has.
It is always my hope that as members we understand the importance of all our sponsors to our community and if at all possible thank them by being a customer.
With that nice new mower, you are ready for the sequel of "The Straight Story".Put a hitch on the back a large teardrop trailer and off you go to visit MM.
Gonna mow the whole neighborhood Jeff?

My mower is the same way. :( I'll have to look at a Woodmizer when I can afford get a quality mower. 8)
Unfortunately my current budget is somewhere between fixing the old one some more and turning the cows out on the lawn. :D
Some "Mowyers" I have seen put a hitch on the back of them. You can pull a yard trailer around and really turn some heads. 😜
I c-clamped a receiver hitch to the front of mine. works great for moving trailers around. can put them anywhere. takes a bit to get used to doing it though.
Even a not so good mower will throw an old marrow bone that the dog left in the yard right through a picture window. Trust me. I KNOW!
They are good at throwing gravel too, through windows :).

Yes....put a target on it and see what you score. ;D
Those blades are really spinning so remember where your discharge chute is.
I seriously hope you have better luck with yours than I have with my non WM zero turn. Seems I have to replace blades and spindles every year. At $190 a go round that get's pricey.
Was doing mail sort (part time job) yesterday when one of the push bike (town) posties came back wounded. Not badly, but a rock(?) from a mower (on the other side of the road) had hit her on the knuckle. Drew blood and left good bruise. A band aid and an entry in the first aid book, and she was good to go again, but yeah, they will throw rocks etc.
Keep in mind the the blade tip speed on most of them is nearly 200 MPH .That's why they leave such a nice finish .Plus there's a reason most of them have a rubber deflector on the discharge .
A little tip,the first time you change the blades coat the bolts with copper coat, never sieze, grease if nothing else .They can jam up so tight you can't shake them with a impact wrench .Been there and done that .The blade under the most load is the one next to the discharge chute
I mowed the yard for the first time this weekend. First time to mow with a zero turn and I was awkward as all get out to start. Even then, I think I mowed the place in half the time and a big unanticipated plus noticed. Because of my multiple shoulder surgeries, my shoulders always hurt when I finish mowing. Every time. Until now. No shoulder pain operating my Wood-Mizer zero turn mower!
Congrats! You will gradually not even think about how to go where you want to go. The signals will seemingly go from your eyes to your hands......like Magic. ;D
But then it's sorta like sawing, when you finally figure out where the clamp and side supports are, you run over that new fence. :-X Might as well laugh but at least you do not destroy a new blade. :D
You'll be riding that mower Soooooo much now I don't think its your shoulder
muscle that you will be complaining about. ;D
No shoulder pain is best! 8) Mine can hurt so bad I think it might hurt less to be run over by a bus.
Pretty soon he will be mowing and drinking Purple Drank.
He will have to get one of these: Robot Check (https://www.amazon.com/BigMouth-Inc-King-Beers-Drinking/dp/B06VW5ZSRP) because the ZT takes both hands. There is a topic on here somewhere about waving from a ZT.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
For some reason you seem to have too much time on your hands. :D
On the Turf Tigers you could hold both sticks in the center and run the mower, including 360° spins. I bet the WM is similar.

Had a near catastrophe today. I have a slope in the yard into the side of the driveway. Simply reversing a heavy zero turn on a hill of slightly wet grass does not stop you or turn you until the last fraction of a second when you are pointed at your wife's newly painted blazer.
I just put mine in the ditch last week, lol. Wish I could say it was the first time. If it's not muddy I can drive out, but it was muddy and getting dark :-\
Bought my first zero turn ( Ferris) late last summer. Made it through the season. Last week I got into some soft wet ground and thought speed would get me over it. Wrong . Stuck it good. Casually walked to the house and got the backhoe. Wife never caught on but a neighbor did. They move fast but not fast enough. :o

Did you pull it out or cover it up? :D :D :D
You really have to watch out on slopes and humps in the lawn with a non-pivoting front axel, what I find happens is when going over the crest of a slope at an angle you get to a point where one front wheel and one back wheel are on the crest and the other two wheels have very little to no weight on them then the weight shifts forward, now you have no weight on your high side rear wheel so you can no longer steer or stop very well. Makes for an exciting ride sometimes.
Some say a pivoting front axel does not cut as smooth but in hindsight I think I would take that over not being able to steer.
I have dropped mine into the pond a few times. I finally got sick of the garbage tires that came on it and put a set of ATV knobby tires on it. Best thing I ever did for my muddy pudding yard. Only drawback to tires that aggressive is you no longer want to do a 180 in place. It will tear a circle of grass out. But once I learned that it has been the best thing ever. At least on my yard. I live on a hill that is filled with springs and all the runoff from the woods goes through the yard. It is not often it is dry.
I bought the Ferris because it has full suspension and pivoting front axle. My lawn is pretty rough. One step above bush hog work. I tried many other machines but this one had the best ride ( for a sore back) and cuts great. Well made in the US. Even with the suspension I cut slow, love driving it. I can limit the reverse speed to avoid problems. I can't imagine wide open and cutting grass. Remarkably stable on hills but they do handle different than a lawn tractor. 8)

I told ya.I smacked the side of my house on wet grass ,beaned several trees .Cut the grass loose spinning around trees .It's a learning curve with these things .That said for a lawn mower hard to beat .
How are your bad shoulders holding out? Running that thing is like sawing with the same moves, well almost :D

Our grass is looking really good and I think I have to give credit to the mower. It cuts so smooth and even. I always enjoyed mowing, just not fixing the mower every time, and the Wood-Mizer Zero turn really makes it enjoyable.
