I know there's better equipment and methods, but I got what I got.I'm sharpening band blades with the grinder type sharpener from EZ Boardwalk. When I started even blades with multiply sharpenings were perfect. No issues. BUT as time has passed I struggle with efficient sharpening even on blades with their first grind. What has changed? I know it could be many varibles, but I'm missing something. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any replies!!

Too many variables for the info you shared. Can you give a run down on your process and pics are always helpful.

Maybe a better description of the grinder for those of us not familiar with that brand.

It's s chainsaw grinder modded with an index mechanism for the band blade if my memory serves me correctly. So it only grinds the face of the tooth. But yes, we need more info as to what is going on.

Barbender's description of the EZ Boardwalk sharpener is correct. But we need a better description of what the problem is.  We would also need to know if the OP is using the red stone or a diamond wheel, and how old they are.  The solution may be as simple as flipping the wheel over to sharpen with a fresh side.

Not familiar with his sharpener, but does that grinding wheel need to be routinely redressed like the common "drag style" grinding wheels?
