Sawing Full Time

I just wanted to announce that I'm now sawing full time. Prayers and best wishes appreciated. It's a big leap of faith for me to do this but if I'm going to do it, I want to do it right now because if I can make this work, I've hopefully got many years ahead to allow my business to naturally grow into something big and special. This is my dream. If I were the wealthiest person on Earth I can honestly say that I would still choose this path. Just got home last night from a super cool portable sawing job on the Mobile Bay here in Alabama. Lots of sawing jobs scheduled. As one of my best friends on this forum always tells me...I've got this.

If you love what your doing and your able to make a living at it you are in an enviable position! In the words of Henry Ford, "if you think you can or you think you can't your right", sounds like you are making it happen!

That's great, I know you will do fine.

I would have had a hard times sawing at that place, because I'd have been throwing a fishing line out about every log.

With your enthusiasm and the amount of "mentors" on this forum that want you to succeed, you will do well. Good luck with your fulltime endeavor. Keep posting updates as you acquire more equipment, overcome hurdles, and of course, pictures of scenic sawing sites situated on the salty shores.

You will do fine. May have to adjust to sawing during the daylight, but I am sure that won't be a problem.

John, good luck with your change in career. Set short-term, achievable goals; that will help your confidence level. If you haven't done so, read through the threads in the Business section, a lot of good ideas there. I don't think business plans are absolutes, be open to opportunities, you may find a niche you didn't know existed.

Congrats and good luck! I'm chasing the dream myself too. Get a good accountant, a good lawyer, and learn as you go. And always save some money in a rainy day, "oh DanG what broke now" fund!

I really appreciate everyone's words of encouragement. It will be an adventure for sure! I do not see how I can fail if I follow good advice and continue to do good quality work.

John I jumped in head first 8 years ago when I bought my LT-15. I was 33 years old and would not take no for an answer! Lot of years working 7 days a week helped establish a great clientele. I can say this, take good care of your best repeat customers...they will be the key to your success. Call me if you ever need anything Bro!

Now I actually have time to take my kids fishing! Hang with it!
