Anyone have pictures of easy to make, good track cleaners for my circle mill? Ideas also. Thanks, Woody

I fastened pieces of Flat Belt to the carriage frame to wipe the track kinda hard. That kept it nice and shiny, too. 1 ahead of and 1 behind each wheel on the saw side of the carriage.

I've seen some as simple as a paint brush nailed to the carriage.  I've also seen those small whisk brooms attached to the carriage.  Both work.

I took a small bungie, and tied a small parts cleaning brush to the leading edge of the track. Works.

I liked the idea I saw elsewhere... a piece of tire sidewall, with a small notch for the rail. Kept it nice and clean.

Thanks for the info. Here's what I came up with. I used metal J-channel to cap around the frame and belting for the sweep. Very easy to build and replace. I will let you know how it works. Thanks again, Woody

Run them drags right up against the wheels. Sawdust will get in between and cause Bumpity- bumpity-bump. Drive ya nuts, unless ya got one of them cushy cabs to sit in

On my carriage, I had a 3x3 piece welded onto my carriage, right in front of the front wheel and right behind the back wheel.  Then, I put pieces of wood in there of different thicknesses to conform to the track.  That keeps the guide tracks clean.

On the flat track, we have a rectangular piece of metal that fits around each wheel.  They work well, but have a tendency to not self clean as good as what you have.  They also make loud noises when they go through the chipper.   :D

Is your guide rail to the back of the mill or closest to the saw?

The guide rail is close to the saw.
