First post.

I have a ms311.  Bought it because it was a great deal. It seemed to be a little sluggish. I pulled the head. It looked ok. After reading about the 311 I found you can swap the 311 head and piston for a 391 head. I have been looking for the 391 kit.  Found some but my intake boot uses 3 bolts to attach to the intake. I did find a new one for 357. But that's not gonna happen. It's alot more then I paid for the saw. All the 391aftermarket heads I found have the circular intake. And uses a clamp. My question is. Does anyone know where I can find a 391 aftermarket head with the 3 bolt intake. Or someone said to convert the intake boot using a circular type with a clamp. If so can someone point me to the exact part needed. Lastly if I do convert this 311 to a 391 will the gains be significant. Thanks.

Ebay sellers when out of stock often add an extra 0 or other digit to the price so that no one will buy the part. It must be easier to keep their ad going that way. I would be interested in hearing about possible gains with a 311/391. Best of luck
The saw is more fun than the purpose of the wood... the forest is trembling 🌳

It's impossible to find the kit. A new 391 is 357 from Baileys. Just need to get the correct part toco vert the 3 bolt clamp boot. There are plenty of 391 heads with the O intake.
