One old NASTY RED OAK

POSTON WIDEHEAD

The old log measured out at 415 BF.
I quarter sawed it.....lots of waste....log was in the rotting stage in the sap wood but gave some very nice splating along with snake skin markings.
Managed to get real close to 200 BF......it was worth the time.

I'll just let it air dry for a while....somebody will come by and show interest.

Nice job, looks good, that quarter sawn oak always looks nice.

Poston why don't you get a nile kiln like WDH and you will be up to speed too.  :D Did you know he making a planer room ?

I put some 4/4 red oak in my new Nyle 200 a few weeks ago at 60%. It came out 3 days ago at 6%. No defects and used every board for flooring. That is some nice stuff for a log that was almost rotten.
