Does anyone know how fast my old, 2 blade, Frick edger should be turning? I asked a couple of people now and I'm getting conflicting info.
I would greatly appreciate any wisdom from someone who knows. pc_smiley
Thanks Gordon
If your're sawing primarily hardwoods, a rim speed of between 8-9,000 surface feet per minute is recommended. For softwoods, that gets bumped up to 10-11,000 surface feet per minute. If you're running an 18" saw, then to get 8,000 sf/m you need to run 1700 rpm.
