Decked

I remember in my heydeys, Deere made a 340. I heard there was one in my area, but never saw it in person. Deere didn't make them very long.

No, it looked just like a smaller version of the 440D. Had to have been the mid-eighties. I know I saw one at a dealer when I was looking  for a new out of the box machine. I wound up with a 1986 540D--one SWEEET Machine!!  I sold it locally & she's still working with a new motor around 2004 & a tranny rebuild around 2007 .

I've seen two of the Awassos MD60 for sale recently in the $40k range.  ( In Quebec)

They look like great machines and I would seriously consider ponying up the extra money for one vs a beat TJ or 440 if I was in business.

treefarm87 , load that C5 up, front and rear, you will not believe the difference, pull better, ride better, deck easier, you have the power, you have to get it to the ground, [fluid will do it]

Was that you or Brad that I just told that to a few days ago.  some fluid in those tires will make a world of difference.

Fluid in my 440 Tires made a world of differnce on traction and keeping tires on the ground. Would love to find one of those Awassos Grapple arch assemblies. Looks like it would be a close size to retro fit on a 440

semologger

We put a grapple assemble on our C5C treefarmer worked pretty good. I have no idea what it came off of. But we didt add fluid in tires. Pulling wood behind the fellerbuncher was easy. Wasnt to hard to put to big of drags and stand the skidder up. I was a very happy guy when we updated to a 450 timberjack.

Do you have any pics semologger?

I just had the rears filled with Rim Guard (beet juice),wow what a difference.Been working 45*slopes,not bad going up but coming down brought the hair up on the neck. Before filling i had the back tires 4'off the ground and the blade cutting 2' in,all i could do was keep going.
