If you are interested in Forestry Education, please visit www.plt.org to find the Project Learning Tree coodinator in your state.  It is a pre-k through 12 National curriculum that teaches all aspects of forestry.

I am the state coordinator for Michigan and our website is www.michiganplt.org.  Our FF host (Jeff) created our website  for us!

PLT has a lot of great projects in the works such as a new elementary education component.  Everyone who becomes certified to teach PLT (formal and non-formal educators) qualify for GreenWorks grants to benefit outdoor education.

We try to have an educator (teacher, home schooler, nature center employee, etc.) as well as resource professionals (foresters, biologists, etc.) at all workshops.

Most states have the activities correlated to their state standards and the 100+ activities can be used as stand alone activities so you do not have to teach the entire curriculum, but can build it into existing curriculum.

If you're interested in forestry education, this is definitely a great place to start!  www.plt.org
