What is the difference between midget and micro midget choker hardware. I have midget, will the balls for micro midget fit?

The choker knobs (ferrule) are generally the same diameter (1.08") for all smaller cables (3/8", 1/2", 9/16").  You don't start seeing bigger ferrules until you get to 5/8" cable or larger.  I'm sure there are 5/8" or bigger cable chokers out there, but 1/2" and 9/16" are the most common, so almost every hook and slide you see is made for these 1.08" ferrules.  The slides are designed to work on any size of main winchline (1.08" ferrule or larger).

As for the difference between "midget" and "micro midget", I don't think it has anything to do with size compatability as a rule, it's just how heavy the part is made.

EDIT: I just looked into this a bit more.  Here's more info about sizes and names:

Micro Midget: 1.08" ferrule for 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", and 9/16" cables
Midget: 1.08" ferrule for 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", and 9/16" cables
Dwarf: 1.45" ferrule for 5/8" cable
Bantam: 1.61" ferrule for 3/4" cable
Light: 2.04" ferrule for 7/8" and 1"cable
