I just bought a new moisture meter it has a wood group chart but not for Pitch pine which I cut a lot. The Pines that are listed include Eastern White, Lodgepole, Ponderosa, Red, Southern Yellow and Sugar. Which one would be a close match for me to use the meter with?

Pitch pine is a southern yellow pine from the standpoint of wood properties. It is not usually on lists of the major SYP species (shortleaf, longleaf, slash, loblolly) because there is so little of it commercially.  Engineering properties are here: htttp://www2.fpl.fs.fed.us/TechSheets/ SoftwoodNA/pdf_files/pinusrigideng.pdf
