DNR Forest Resources Division will be offering 2 free workshops regarding Heterobasidion Root Disease on state lands.  Each workshop will cover the proposed cutting restriction on certain timber sales on state land, necessary certifications for the application of fungicide to minimize spread of the disease, and a field session to see the disease first-hand.

Companies are asked to send just one person to attend either workshop, preferably the individual that will be responsible for obtaining the applicator license from the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and maintaining records on fungicide applications to state timber sales. 

First Workshop: Thursday, Aug. 30, 9 am – 5 pm, Newberry, LMAS Health Department, 14150 Hamilton Lake Road. Second Workshop: Monday, Sept. 10, 9 am – 5 pm, Cadillac, Evergreen Resort Conference room, 7880 Mackinaw Trail. Registration is mandatory.
