Thinking about getting a sawmill- advice?

Thanks for the tips.  Yes, I'd definitely get a metal detector.  I don't plan on fence line, yard trees, at least not right away.  I plan on going through my reclaim, which may even be a little worse for nails.  I'll go through them as thoroughly as possible before cutting or attempting to plane anything, for sure!

I've been talking privately with a member on here about his Norwood MX34.  Apparently it can cut 34 inch compared to the LT15's 28".  He also prefers the manual feed so he can feel the cut and if there is any additional resistance.  The downside he said was log length in the standard configuration, but that can be remedied with extension(s).
