jsut watched a doco on trucks in america.

had soem ice road stuff and all sorts of god things.

was quite interesting, motly smaller semis from what i saw.

do you guys have B Double trucks and road trains over there?

we have small 2-17 ton (payload) trucks running around doing bits and peices.

as well as semi trailers (prime movers with 1 long trailer) 18 - 22 wheels.

we have B doubles (prime mover with 2 trailers- 34 wheelers) running around town here they do most of the local deliveries.

as you head out west away form the big towns you get the road trains, prine movers with between 3 and 7 trailers. there scary to coem accross, its easy enough if your going the otehr way, but when your headin the same way as them and you get one infront and one behind tehy do rediculous speeds on rough as guts roads.

in the northeast the only doubles you will see are the 28' pups that fedex uses. on the golden road in northern maine they do use some doubles yrs. ago they tried pulling 3 traliors. in the west they have rocky mt. doubles amd in canada b trains

Coon

Lots of b-trains here especially in the winter months when bigger loads can be hauled. In the summer months many guys just drop the back trailer, but then again it all depends whether ther are running on Primary, secondary, or access pavement ans Primary, secondary, and access gravel.  Shouldn't be that long before the road bands will come into effect for break up.

Starting at the link given, and onward through this thread, you can see many examples of trucking logs, many here in Michigan that Ron Scott has posted.
