Mad Professor

I have been a fan of the Woodwrights Shop for years.

I was looking over past episodes and found one on hand sawing tips.

I suspect many of you know these tricks, but I learned a bit and I think I'll have less work on my tennons with the chisel, and look/fit much nicer.  There is some tips on: setting up cuts, starting cuts, cutting tennons, ripping.

I'm still green compared to most here.  But I have a nice set of old Disstons, big/small and rip or crosscut, miters too.

No takers?  How do the shoulders of your tennons look?  How do you start a cut?

How do you start a cut on a tennon shoulder?
