Title: woods 412 planer

what can you guys tell me about a woods 412 wood planer?? i was looking in the local newspaper a few minutes ago and theres one in a farm auction this coming friday??
did they have any weak points?? and is there any thing special i should look for as far as problems or wear??

Never heard of it. You might send Reid a PM and ask. I bet he knows something on them. That way he'll get an email notification and can get back to you before you go to the auction.

well,i went to the auction today. that planer was a monster..it was huge!!!! i looked it over pretty good and the only thing i saw wrong was a set of bad bearing on one of the main gears..i,am not sure if it did any damage tho.i couldn,t see the shaft it was riding on.. it sold for $1500.
i,de like to be there when,they try moving it..

PS:it was old but,it looked like it was in good shape..it was all flat belt drive.
