Anyone used Avalon wood stoves before? My sister has like a 15 year old model that's been in storage for a while. She tells me that it will 'burn smoke'... I'm wondering if it's a good idea to swap out the smallish Regency stove for the Avalon...
87 acres abandoned northern Maine farm and forest to reclaim. 20 acres in fields, 55 acre woodlot: maple, spruce, cedar and mixed. Deer, bear, moose, fox, mink, snowshoe and lynx. So far: a 1950 Fergie TO-20, hand tools, and a forge. (And a husband!)

I have an Avalon wood stove ( top load ) it is a very good product with a nice durable finish, easy to load and heats a small home if the power goes out, three chords last most winters with a little to spare ........ I would recommend it.

I have one that's about 4 years old that is heating right now.  It's a great stove, the glass in the front hardly ever soots up.  I clean it like once a month.
