Took this pic yesterday at the Berryville, Va. steam show. Anyone have any ideas what this was used for?

Well, with that plow blade on the back and no front blade, I'd say it was for turning over soil in a bog?  Wouldn't want to be on a side hill with that thing! :D

Just North-East of Sacramento...

SkyTrak 9038, Ford 545D FEL, Davis Little Monster backhoe, Case 16+4 Trencher, Home Built 42" capacity/36" cut Bandmill up to 54' long - using it all to build a timber frame cabin.

Resonator

High clearance crawler tractor for digging rows of trees and shrubs.
Under bark there's boards and beams, somewhere in between.
Cuttin' while its green, through a steady sawdust stream.
I'm chasing the sawdust dream.

My guess is it's a cable layer of some type.  Look at the front end.  Looks like a cable reel carrier.

Maine372

looks like the love child of a d3 cat and a straddle lumber carrier!

It's definitely a tree digger. They have been discussed at length over on the IH forum.
