I'm wondering what rpm should the saw blade arbor run on an edger, just bought a new to me used edger with 16 inch inserted tooth blades with no motor on it, got a motor mount with it but the engine was junk so it was converted to line shaft run off a diesel engine instead.

I'm thinking about using a pto jack shaft to run the edger.

Right now its set up for two blades, but does have four blades with it.

I'm just looking for a suggested speed to start with, I'm wanting to use a 540 pto and power it with one of my M's.

I've been looking and reading about rim speed and shaft speed and now am somewhat confused as to where to start.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks

Percy

My woodmizer EG200 edger with 14 inch blades runs about 2000 rpm...the engine runs at 3600 and the belt pulley on the engine is   about half the size of the driven pulley, maybe just a little bigger...you want me to measure and get exact? Can do.....
