Growth on oak leaf

bugs.  What is your location and what type of oak?

I'm in the Central California foothills. I think the oaks are Live Oaks, but they may be blue oaks.

I believe it is a leaf gall produced by a gall wasp.

clearcut

Looks like the Crystalline Gall Wasp (Andricus crystallinus)

Fairly common, almost never harmful to the tree.

Looks more like a blue oak (Quercus douglasii) leaf to me.
Carbon sequestered upon request.
