are Stihl and Hsuky bars interchangable?

For say the 044 range and 385 range of saws? Never had a huskky but i have some old stihl bars and a friend has a husky, so I was wondering if he can use my extra stihl bars. Anyone know?

Yes you can use the Stihl bars on the Large Husky mount saws but you need an adapter. The Stihl bars have a  larger slot for the bar studs. They do make an adapter that goes over the Husky studs and it makes them the diameter of the Stihl studs. Both bars have the oil holes and the hole for the bar adjusters in the same location.
If you have a local machine shop handy, they should be able to make you two bushings in about 15 minutes that will work. Just drill the center hole the same size as the outside diameter of the Husky stud and machine the outside to the same diameter as the outside of the Stihl stud. Cut them off so the thickness is a little less then the width of the thickness of the bar, just slide them on the studs and you can run the Stihl bars.
