HI folks.

I inherited a Homelite 360. It hadn't been used in many years...I got it running and used it for maybe 20 minutes before it stopped running and I could not get it started.

Took it to a local shop. They installed a carb kit, thinking that would remedy the problem, but it didn't. The offered to install a new carb, but are not able to find one.

The shop says they can get it started, but runs rough and soon stops. Given its age, they are out of ideas.

Any suggestions I could pass on to the shop? Or is it likely ready for the trash heap?

Thanks.

Usually the intake boot rots on these.  I would check that first and theyre available from stens.  Replace the fuel lines, the carb diaphragms and the crank seals.  If the igntion is bad I would probably scrap it although you say you had it running?  Use a non resistor plug, like a cj6 not a rcj6.
