Hi all,
I'm after a little bit of advice. I'm 27 years old based in the UK and have been working in the forestry industry for the last 8 years, felling all sorts and the last 3 years have been driving a forwarder.

I spent 6 months felling in front of a hauler in New Zealand and when I got back home I decided to enrol on a part time Masters degree in forestry, hoping that my practical experience would assist me in getting a job in the management side of forestry.

Fast forward to now and I've lost my job as a forwarder operator because the guy I used to work for has thrown the towel in, and I've had to postpone the last year of my degree until I find a new job.

I would be interested to find out how other people have gotten on when moving from the practical side into management roles? Would I get away with my post-graduate diploma and experience getting a job, or would it be wise to complete my degree next year?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Sam
