Jeff,
I have the brochure in PDF but it is 800 KB.   Let me know how to attach it as is says a 200 KB limit on the attachment options or I could send it to you and you could post it.

Our "Southwest Badger" RC&D just put a two day Forestry Field Day (Light-on-the-Land) with demonstrations and workshops, and it was free.   $100 is a pretty steep fee, but probably worth it just the same (edited first message).

Maybe this also goes on the Calendar and in the Shows and Events Forum.

I would like to go to this. I have heard good things about the game of logging. $100 is a little steep but if it is as good as I have heard then it should be worth it.
The only problem I have is that I have to work on all those days and I'm about out of vacation. :(

Thanks Doug for posting this.

Jessica Simons posted it on the workshop topic under the forestry board.  She said that the brochure will be on their websie in a few days.

$100.00 is dirt cheap for the Game of Logging, especially if it covers all the days. When I took it about ten years ago it was about $160.00 or so a day, for four days. The four classes were held one day a month for four months, And we had to pay for the instructor's time and plane ticket each time. I've cut hundreds, if not thousands of trees that I paid $100.00 or more per tree on the stump, so if a $100.00 training course helps me not split one tree, it just paid for itself.

Last week I was a participant in level one and level two of the Game of Logging. I was also able to observe level three. It was my good fortune to be able to host the training at my woods.  Bill Lindloff was the instructor and he does a great job. If you ever get a chance to take it you will never regret it. For me it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to get such great hands on instruction. The best part for me is that I was able to go back to the felled trees and study the cuts the next day. I also took some pictures which help a lot to jog the memory. Another plus was that I got to share some time in the woods with some great guys.

Does anyone know of a Game of logging class in or near New England?
