E-Classic 2300 rear air chamber repair kit

Has anyone installed the Central Boiler rear air chamber repair kit? The instructions are even worse than normal.  If you follow them, it basically has you install a piece of plate over the existing air chamber.  Ummmm......  I am pretty sure I need access to said chamber? Anyone done the kit?

I am reluctant to read between the lines and use this kit, after already having installed the side air chamber repair kit, which seems pretty Mickey Mouse as well.
