Hi all.

I have a mate looking at getting a smaller skidder to do 3 blocks of pine. Hes found a tree farmer C4D for cheap. Just want to know from anyone out there what to look out for when going to have a look at, and any pit falls when using it??

Thanks

Simple machine. Check center section and walking beam for play. Run the winch. Drive it around tight circles make sure it doesn't jump around. That's signs of planitary issues. Try to hook cable to a tree and pull to see if the winch slips and spin all 4 tires to make sure the no spin is working. I know guys that had planitaries blow and they just remove the axle and put it back together.

Look closely at he planetary covers, the three pins need to be tight if it has Rockwell 68's.
