Thats awesome, love opening up a log on that first slice! What was the diameter on that monster?
Current collection: Husky 3120xp,  372xp, 365, husky 55, homelite xl12. Michigan 85 wheel loader, Ford 8n with loader and forks. Farmall super C, 1988 international dump truck, John Deere 440ICD dozer, 19ft equipment trailer, 40 ton TSC splitter, modified dieder splitter with 4 way.

That slabber is sweet.  So are the boards.

Take steps to save steps.

If it won't roll, its not a log; it's still a tree.  Sawmills cut logs, not trees.

Kiln drying wood: When the cookies are burned, they're burned, and you can't fix them.

Sawing is fun for the first couple million boards.

Great looking stuff. You'll probably be able to get a few SGU's :D out of that log.

After any of you slab large pieces like this and dry them how you do display them? I see where Scott gets some of his standing up in his "show room" (I'm guess that what you might call it) but they are very heavy to handle and take up lots of space. I have slots along walls and racks to hold slabs up to 9ft and under up to maybe 30" and they get pretty heavy also.

I may stand 1 slab up from each flitch they are very heavy they will have to be stood up with the forklift

We sell slabs and build furniture or we take a slab to a stage where someone with limited tooling can finish
