Im about to start a pavillion project for my deck. Its rough size will be 18 ft wide and 16 ft out from the house. Im building a truss/purlin out of 6x6 pine. the truss will be open with a 14 ft span for the purlins to run to a stick built gable on top of the existing wall. I`m thinking three purlins per side, not counting the ridge,(which I have hemlock for) andoutside end which would put them about 3 ft apart, Ill be sheathing with 1" tongue and groove pineThe pitch should be around a 8. Question is, enough purlins? too many?
