Title: Favorite Threads...
Post by: metalspinner on January 29, 2008, 05:31:53 PM
Everytime I see pics from this thread ( https://forestryforum.com/board/index.php/topic,9786.0.html ) on the home page, I cannot resist the urge to browse the thread again.  And each time I scroll through it I am blown away.  Ianab the Tour Guide does a wonderful job of walking us through the museum and has taken great pics of incredible things.  New Zealand is on my "Someday List" because of this thread. :)  Thanks, Iain!

Anyone else have a favorate thread they would like to share?

Actually, I have a lot of them. It's difficult to choose.  Some are funny, some are well put together, Some are sad but are points to remember and then there is the Sweet Gum Thread.  I guess I keep coming back to this one from a slower time and a closely knit membership.  Times of lessor confrontation.

I like Old'r Folks, Younger Folks, A funny story, and a lot of others.

If I got to highlight one it would be Sky Scenes.

Here is a link.... Sky Scenes (https://forestryforum.com/board/index.php/topic,2343.0.html)

I don't add to much to the Outdoor section but every once in a while I'll go there just to page through the pictures.

I like the woodworking threads, even some of my own in there  ;D :D and I like the plant and ID threads and the ones we have fun trying to figure out the bark or grain of the wood. You soon discover that bark is not as revealing as some like to assert. :D There are quite a few general threads started on things I never heard tell of before. I like the outdoor threads of the animals, scenery. And the threads on folks tinkering around with ideas and alternative methods, even though a lot is out of my reach.  ;D I like the timber framing threads and spend too little time in there. Always finding a nice project going on in there mostly by stumbling around and looking for new threads. Seems to be a lost art around here, except for log home building which is hit and miss in my area. Nobody builds big old barns around here any longer, old ones are falling down. Sign of the times.
