Sawmills and Milling / Re: Sawhead Hydraulic Creep

We need a hydraulic diagram to diagnose remotely.  Trace the line where the fluid needs to go to make the carriage move the direction it takes.  Follow that line back to the lever manifold.  That will take you right to the problem area.  Somehow, pressurized fluid gets in this line when other levers are moved.  Likely the carriage control manifold needs to be replaced.

Does the carriage move only when you extend a cylinder, when you retract or both?

I haven't ran JD/Timberjack machines, but it sounds like you have either a direct short, bad connection, or a broken wire in your electronics. You'll have to dig into it more to figure out which.

Which error codes show? Just the crane module communication?

I have had modules go bad before that made some goofy things happen, too.

Have you followed the "clear the cache" suggestion and still a problem?

I don't have a timber harvester but assume the head motor is hydraulic?

Many times this could indicate a loose hydraulic fitting (look for drips) in the return side of the head pump plumbing allowing flow, or a worm oring or seal on the valve body itself.

I've use the Frontline stuff on the dog. Yes, it kills the tick but doesn't stop the tick from crawling around on the dog and than biting. Even worse is when the dog brings in the ticks that jump on me and bite. I thought about the tick collars but seems like lots of negative press on the effects of the collar both on the dog and the owner. I have been using Sawyer, a premium insect repellent according to their press. I spray it on the dog heavy about every 4-6 weeks during tick season. It seems to keep the ticks off the dog. I was out yesterday in the woods and had sprayed myself with Deep Woods Off. Found six that were crawling me hunting for a place to bite.

Rainy Sunday, I knew I wouldn't have visitors today so perfect to work in the shop without interruption.

I put some air dry bar stool legs in the sand pot on top the hot plate two days ago at 12%. Checked them this morning with my Wagner and it wouldn't give me a reading on the end in the sand where the tenon will be, so knew they were dry.

They are just rough turned so I finish turned the tenon and drilled for stretchers.

Next I built a table saw sled to saw tapered octagon chair legs on a production basis. Still a work in progress but the result looks good.

Popped the chair legs into the sand pot and they should dry quickly.

Tree marking paint is a specialty paint used for long lasting on tree bark and comes in a variety of colors which are used for laying out the timber harvest area and designation of the trees to be cut or not cut. Different paint colors and letter codes such as WL for wildlife trees to be left uncut and undamaged are used by the foresters preparing the timber sale. R may be used for reserved trees for whatever the reason spelled out in the harvest contract.

Whatever the colors and codes painted on the trees, they should be spelled out well in the timber harvest contract and shown on the timber sale area map to be followed as designation codes for the logger and their cutters to follow and perform the harvest accordingly.

Marking codes and paint colors are usually common in meaning among the various governmental agencies, consulting, and timber company foresters who lay out the harvest areas and the loggers and their cutters soon learn the colors, designations, and codes and perform the harvest accordingly.

Forestry and Logging / 1010D Crane module

Im new on this forum. Don't trow me rocks plz. I just purchase a John Deere / Timberjack Forwarder 1010D 2005. I do have persistent issue. I would like your help to diagnostic.

At the beginning I had crane speed / control issue. Changed one of the joystick / calibrate / adjusted  by the dealer. Now run as new corect speed and all movement works.

But after this story fixed, still have a trouble with losing the Crane module communication.

In fact it's happening when you clam wood and all the sudent I loose all hydraulique control on both joystick.

Sometime it come back after a couple seconds, but most often I do have to shut down the engine. When I restart all good to go, for another couple minutes until it stop again and again.

Any Ideas ?
