This fall I enrolled in the fruits and vegetables program at Michigan State University extension and eventually want to get a bachelors in forestry.  I was wondering if there is good job opportunity in this field.  Is there many job openings per foresters in the field?

The standard forester answer, "it depends".  Like any job market it is hot and cold, and seems to rotate demand around the country.  Specialize, computers works best, expect to relocate, expect to start at the low end.  There are some jump up positions that do occur, start early looking and do it throughout the country.  Federal level always seemed to have the most openings, automatic relocate.  Take a field job any where and work your way up.

Obviously, no easy answer.

Oh, and welcome to the forum.
