I have a gauge  for my disc to show proper radius for 3/8LP 3/8 325 etc and they always needed done.  Even reshaped when doing alot of chains too.

When using a sharpener just make sure you get the wheel low enough so the side of the wheel hits the face of the tooth, you'll have chains that cut good. On some low profile chains you might have to dress the wheel at to match the chain clamp so the side of the wheel can get low enough. Not getting the wheel low enough can result in a negative hook angle on the cutter which wont cut good.   steve
