Cherry burl

    I found this cherry burl at my camp yesterday.

 
I was just wondering if there is a name for this type of burl. This tree was down ,but there are more like it still standing. I don't know what I will make with it ,but I will try to turn it if it is any good for that. Its about the size of a volleyball.

That looks like a very big burl for such a small tree I've seen lots of cherry burls  but they are much bigger trees

I've got 4 or 5 burls just like that in my basement from when I living in NY. I can't say I know much about their origins, but I've found they often occur in clusters/groves. I hope to have time to do something with mine some day, its been about 5 years since I cut them.
Trees are good.
