Scraping sawdust off hardpack was getting old, so I banged out a sawdust catch that should make my life a little easier: two old pieces of 5/8 plywood, a few hinges and some left over scrapwood.  Now that wasn't so hard Rob, was it? and a lot more comfy to walk on!!:D

.  And yes, I sometimes cut the little stuff to make 4 x 4's, ever since I cut a bunch and a guy bought all I had for $ 5 each!  All the best, Rob.

We actually made a whole floor under my mills so that we could use a leaf blower to clean out under them. WE use blowers for our sawdust, but depending on how much you saw you might be able to blow that off.

I did something similar to the OP but made it wide enough for the 5' bucket on my  tractor to gather up the sawdust.

MikeON--that's my plan too: the 2' section should fold down when I remove the 4 supports and then I can scoop up with my tractor loader.

Yo Paul--based on your suggestion, found my old Toro leaf blower and am now a sawdust blowing fool 8) 8).  What a difference: the blower gets in all the nooks and crannies and no more time with that little brush trying to clean up the mill! Better late than never (have owned my mill since 2003!).  Thanks Paul.  All the best, Rob

I always thought about using a good quality tarp then dragging it to a pile to dump. This is nice though.
