Finally, I can make a worthwhile contribution to the group.  ;D
As most of you know, I'm still trying to get my mill sawing properly so I've been doing a lot of research into blades.
I had found a couple of reports on band blades but they mostly dealt with the 3"+ . Finally found this report today.
http://www.rirdc.gov.au/reports/AFT/03-046.pdf

So far just skimmed through it but looks very informative if anyone wants to get a bit more technical about sawing.

Includes both the band and circular portable mill.

BTW, it's 140+ pages so may take a bit to download on the slower connections.
Just finished printing it all out cause I hate reading from the computer.  :)
Timberwolf / TimberPro sawmill, Woodmizer edger, both with Kubota diesels. '92 Massey Ferguson 50H backhoe, '92 Ford F450 with 14' dump/ flatbed and of course an '88 GMC 3500 pickup.

Very good report!

Interestingly the band mill pulled through the wood with the variable speed motor could consistantly cut at higher speeds than either hand feed methods.
