had a husqy 262xp in the shop today with the bottom conrod needle bearing letting go and done in piston and cylinder,was wondering is there any other models share the same bottom end.thanks for any replys.
257,261. Best thing is 261 two differences between 261 & 262. 261 has dished piston 262 has flat top piston. Both 48mm bore. Both use same cyl. 262 has 3 shoe clutch 261 has 2 shoe clutch.

The muffler also is different.
How close are the 254's?? 254,257,261,262 all have 34mm stokes...in very similar cases. Are the cranks the same?? I have four sets of 254 bottom ends in various states of degeneration from sitting in a barn, two good and one maybe good cranks, but all the case bearings are ruined ... was thinking of blending an tweaked AM 262 top end with a popup piston build to one, using a 242 air filter to allow it to be stuffed under its very weather faded 254 top cover... and making a "chicken chit to chicken soup" saw for kicks to see if I can make what should be scrap cut wood...:)

The 154/254 cranks have a shorter con rod, otherwise they are the same - except for minor changes trough "generations" of them, that didn't happen at the same time with all models. I don't think there are any compatibility issues caused by those minor changes, only because of the different con rods.
