Yard Sale - LaFont L-35, Hyd LP filter Q

Picked up this "running w/no leaks" L-35 Green Machine with it's 8hp B&S that looks original. Replace all fluids but Hyd Filter on it was forced on making its own threads into threads in filter. Threads on post are fine. I know LaFont is OOB long ago. Hoping someone has one with a filter brand and part # else will use old one with new fluid because it seals up fine. Name on old filter appears to be: "rotary" but has no numbers. Old one turns 3.25 turns and seals. New match from auto parts place only turns 1.25 turns and is far from seal. Thanks in advance. I'm real new here.
