I seen a salvage yard had 225A and 225GS for parts. Just wondering what the difference was between them. I have never heard of the 225GS.  Does anybody know what the difference is?

The 225GS is either a D or E series. Probably a D series. It has rockwell axles and a NP transfer case. Probably only has hydraulic line lock park brake.

The 225A will have an Eaton transfer case and probably Eaton axles. I think the rear frames, and doors etc changed between these models too. The A could have a powershift or a Deutz as well.

The one i have has 225gsx on the serial plate. It has Eaton axes and 353. Has hand brake also and pads are in transfer case. It's a1984

A 225GSRE is a newer machine to the 225GS you mentioned. The extra letters were added as options came in on more parts.

A 225GSRE came with Rockwell axles and Eaton winch because that is what the RE designates.

GS means GM motor and Standard transmission.
