So I was out cleaning up the yard before the inevitable first real snow comes. Anyway I noticed this track in the mud next to my house, I only found 1 track. These were located close to several species of pine and many deer tracks. I am located in interior SW CT. We have a good amount of wildlife around here including fox, turkey, deer, coyotes and the occasional black bear. We even have had a few instances of moose in the area but it rarely happens. The pictures aren't the best, I can probably get better ones in the morning.

Hmmm!  You better lock the doors for sure.  It might be Poston.  He's got really big feet for a goat.  He'll slip in and eat up your grits if you ain't careful.  ;) ;D

Is that a cougar track?   :o

I saw a cougar on the deer trail behind my home in October 2000.  It's a sight you never forget.

I was thinking that, I know people have said they have seen them around here before, but the state denies that there is a reproducing population in the state.

I see nothing in the pics that resembles a foot print. Maybe could imagine a face, but no print.

Is it in mud, or snow slush?

@sr73087, how about adding your state to your profile.  You previously mentioned CT, but it helps to always know the location of a poster.  ;D
