Gday guys,

Ive been running my CSM for around a month now and loving it, Now im thinking about buying a granberg mini mill to use as a edger. Ive watched a few videos on them and see the run on a rail to keep the cut straight. does the mill actually clip into this rail or just run across it?

why i ask this is because ive watched a few videos where the operator buries the nose of the bar through a log. And to me this seem to be a risky cut, Because of possible kickback from the saw.

any advice or opinions on these mini mills would be much appreciated

cheers

Hi,
The mini mill just rests on the guide rail.
I have never used a bar that is shorter than what I am cutting with the mill.

Thanks for the video losttheplot. I like seeing different styles of mill. If I had the money I'd love a Lucas mill with a slabber. Just because I am constantly turning down logs due to size.
