I am a noob for keeping houseplants (or any type of plant for that matter).

in order to properly care for plants I would like to identify what type of palms these are.

The tags just said foliage and exotic plant.

assistance would be greatly appreciated! :)

I'm guessing the first one is areca palm and the second one is cat palm after looking at some images :)
but I'd like to be sure :) thank you very much!!

mesquite buckeye

There are about a gozillion kinds of palms. From the photos I'd say the first issue that will come up is you need more light.... ;D
Manage 80 acre tree farm in central Missouri and Mesquite timber and about a gozillion saguaros in Arizona.

Usually a Latin name is indicated on the labelling.  ;D
